Research is a detailed and thoughtful study of a subject to increase its knowledge. Research means to search about anything or person with special care, to continuously carefully inquire or investigate the subject matter to discover facts or theories. Research is defined as the creation of new knowledge and/or the use of existing knowledge in new and creative ways to generate new concepts, methods, and understanding. This may involve synthesis and analysis of previous research to such an extent that it leads to new and creative results. Discovery of new things and re-examination of old things and theories, so that new facts can be obtained, is called research. Under research, new facts or theories are discovered by collecting facts with conscious effort and then observing and analyzing them with astute and critical intelligence. The objective of research is to find answers to questions through the application of scientific processes. The main aim of research is to find out the truth/fact which is hidden and has not been discovered yet. Research allows you to pursue your interests, learn something new, hone your problem-solving skills, and challenge yourself in new ways. The word research is derived from the Middle French “recherche”, meaning “to search”, itself from the Old French word “reserchier”, a compound word from “re-” + “serchier” or ” “Secher”, meaning ‘discover’. The earliest recorded use of the word was in 1577.
